~SPOILER ALERT~

This page contains all of the characters making an appearance in the Epics of Vlád web comic.  There are details here

which might give you a more clear understanding of the characters and the reasons for the things that they do or

what events caused them to appear in the comic.  However, the information under each profile reveals certain info

which is key to story progression and may or may not be somewhat of a spoiler if you have not read to that point.

Currently I am allowing Vlád to choose the order.  This means that while the rest of the characters will be in

alphabetical order Vlád himself will be both at the beginning and the end of the Characterpedia.

(His reasoning is that he is, obviously, the first and last thing you should think about.)

for dumb, Vlád is often simply not interested in trifling with thinking.  He relies on his own unfathomable confidence in

Dark, The

NEMESIS

Height:  7 inches (chin to forehead)

Weight:  Seemingly unbound by the laws of gravity, therefore, without weight.

Hates:  Light sources of any kind.

Enjoys:  Feeding off of the darker emotions found in the hearts of men.

Favorite Color:  Jet Black

A true enigma.  It is  unknown whether The Dark is a living entity or some form of concentrated evil.  He identifies as a male and is obviously sentient.  However, he does not seem to have any sort of organs or even much of a physical form.  He appears as a disembodied head attached to shoulder pauldrons with a cape.  Inside of his cape is a dark malevolent energy which seems to swirl and seek an avenue of escape.  It appears to be contained within the shroud of his cape which is made of an unknown clothing which seems to simultaneously repel and absorb varying energies of it’s own volition.  It is apparent that The Dark has motivations and even seems to have feelings.  Despite these things he has no form of measurable compassion and seems to delight in the misery of other beings.  Following the events that he initiated causing the destruction of Vlád’s hometown and then recapturing Vlád after his defeat of the Grunt, F, The Dark seems to vanish from the scene and leaves Vlád to decide his own fate.

F, Grunt

Foe

Height: 6 feet

Weight: 195 pounds

Hates:  Getting beat by kids.

Hobby:  Hanging with his bros.

Favorite color: Blue

Preferred Weapon:  Swords

F is a member of the Grunts.  He is on mission, following The Dark, during the razing of Vlád’s village.  It is there that he takes the unconscious boy and cages him.  After transporting the boy to a location near The Dark’s fortress, F is ordered to test the young boy in order to determine his true potential.  F is in for an unwelcome surprise when, instead of running away, Vlád turns on him and proceeds to assault him in a most unforeseen and indefensible manner.  After being trounced without mercy F runs into the nearby woods and hides in a cave as the young and ferocious Vlád passes by in search of him.  It is here that we last see F as he suddenly realizes that he is hiding in the cave of some  unseen predator which has decided it is hungry and in a foul temper.

Golemega

FOE

Height: 42 feet 8 inches

Weight:  50 tons

Favorite fighting move:  Mud-hole Stomp

Nemesis:  Garudalpha

Favorite color:  Brown

Guardian of the  Earth Maiden.  Golemega was crafted by the will of the Earth.  He

stands resolute and unrelenting in the path of any who attempt to reach the Earth Maiden in her subterranean demesne.

Golemega has no desire or purpose other than performing his duties as a guardian.  He has no feelings.  When there is

not threat present he is very much as any other rock would be.  In the event that Golemega is destroyed or damaged

he is reconstituted by the Will of the Earth and resumes his duties.  This process’s duration is equal to the time it takes

the planet to go through one full rotation on its axis.

Scribe

FRIEND

Height:  5 feet 10 inches

Weight: 165 pounds

Hobby:  Finding new ways to sort his tomes.

Nemesis:  The darkness nestled within humanity.

Favorite treat:  Pretzels and cola.

The Scribe is an autonomous watcher of the Worlds of Man.  The Scribe has no eyes.

Yet he sees all that he needs to know.  It is unknown if he is a human being.  However, his apparent  longevity would

indicate that he is not.  He takes particular interest in heroes and heroic deeds and records every occurrence and

undertaking.  In the Epics of Vlád, the Scribe serves as the narrator and story teller.  His intentions are to inspire

humanity towards greatness and heroic choices by revealing the greatest examples of human courage and ability.

He dishes these out like doses of a necessary medicine trying to nurture the tainted hearts of men back to a healthy

and less darkened path.  He does not explain his interest in this path.  He seems to have no intentions of revealing

the purpose behind his own agenda.

Shadow

FOE

Height:  6.66 feet

Weight:  Unknown

Oath:  Vengeance upon Vlád

Hobby:  Spelunking

Hates:  Sunny days

Current Location:  Unknown

Shadow is a member of a demon clan called Shadewalkers.  These demons come in all shapes and sizes, have varying powers, and are basically impossible to distinguish apart from any other form of demon except for two very distinct features that are consistent with all Shadewalkers.  First and foremost they are almost entirely monochromatic, save for their eyes.  Secondly, they have the dangerous ability to grow in power exponentially while they are not in direct sunlight.  As long as they do not have a pure unbroken ray of sunlight shining upon them, their natural resistances and strengths grow to a proportion that most would perceive as nearly invincible.  Their aura melds with the shade in which they stand and they become somehow very much a part of their surroundings.  Shadewalkers can often seem to warp around within the unbroken shadows and seem immovable by physical force.  However upon being touched even in part by sunlight they lose all this power and become light in weight and weak in body.  Their spiritual abilities diminish and their auras no longer have a grip on their surroundings.  It is Shadow who corners the young Vlád upon a precipice shortly after razing his village.  It is there that Shadow makes the mistake of standing in open direct sunlight as the young boy decides to tackle him.  This impact forces the faded body of Shadow over the cliff and the too fall.  It is here that Shadow’s weakened corporeal form is destroyed upon the crushing impact on the ground far below.  It is believed by the Grunt, F, that Shadow has met his demise…

Young Vlád

Height: 5 feet 2 inches

Weight: 145 pounds

Favorite Quote: POTATO

Believes he is Invincible

Mourns:  Family and friends.  A boy without a home.

Hates:  Anyone who wants him to run.

Hobby:  Thrashing “bad guys” senseless.

The Young Vlád.  His village having been razed by The Dark’s forces, Vlád finds himself homeless and with no family or friends.  Having defeated every opponent he has faced, except for The Dark(due to trickery so it doesn’t count), the boy believes that he is invincible and cannot be defeated.  It becomes his quest to seek out The Dark for a rematch to prove his theory that he is unbeatable.  Vlád seems to draw people to him easily and as he begins his first of many adventures he forms a small band of friends rather quickly.
